THIS IS A NEW PROMOTIONAL
ASSEMBLED EXAMINATION. The eligible list resulting
from this examination will cancel any existing list and may last approximately
one year but can be extended. Qualified applicants must be current
county employees and have completed the equivalent of six months of continuous
service following a regular appointment in the Alameda County classified
service (non-classified includes the District Attorney’s Office, the Medical
Center, and the Superior Court) by 5:00 p.m. on the last day for filing. A
regular appointment does not include provisional, TAP (Temporary Assignment
Pool), or STEP-UP appointments.

Day for Filing. Postmarks are not accepted. Applications will only be accepted

The Alameda County Social Services Agency (SSA) is comprised of 2,400 men and women working collectively and in partnership with community-based organizations to serve the needs of the community. Services are provided through four departments: Administration and Finance, Adult and Aging Services, Children and Family Services, and Workforce and Benefits Administration. THE POSITION
Under general direction, to supervise, review,
and evaluate the work of a unit responsible for investigations, assessments,
case and client management, and estate administration and associated support
work in the Department of Adult and Aging Services.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal Adult Protective
Service Supervisor candidate will possess:
Education:
Possession of a Master’s degree in Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Counseling, Gerontology, Business or Public Administration, or a closely related field, from an accredited college or university.
AND
Either Pattern I
Experience:
The equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience as an Adult Protective Services Worker II, Deputy Public Guardian-Conservator/Investigator, or higher-level social worker classification in the Alameda County classified service.
Or Pattern II
The equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience providing social casework services to the mentally ill or elderly in a public or private social services organization or mental health organization, equivalent in level of responsibility to that of the Adult Protective Services Worker II in the Alameda County classified service.
Or Pattern III
Two years of full time experience in the management of financial assets for estates or individuals, or the management of investments.
License: Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's license.
