Reinstatement:
Pursuant to Civil Service Rule 1744: On the request of a department head and approval of the Commission, a regularly appointed employee who resigned in good standing may, within three years after the effective date of his/her resignation, be reinstated in a position in the class from which he/she resigned or in a position in another class for which he/she may be eligible as determined by the Commission. Appointments by reinstatement following resignation are subject to the probationary period established for the class. You must have been a classified County employee in the same job code or in a job code at the same salary maximum and left the County in good standing. In addition, you must meet the minimum and special qualifications of the specific position.

Transfer:
You must be a current County classified employee in the same job code or in a job code with the same salary maximum for which you are applying. In addition, you must meet the minimum and special qualifications of the specific position.

Voluntary Demotion:
You must be a current County classified employee in a job code which is at a higher salary maximum than the vacancy for which you are applying. In addition, you must meet the minimum and special qualifications of the specific position.

DESCRIPTION

ALAMEDA COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF CHILD SUPPORT SERVICES (ACDCSS)

The Alameda County Department of Child Support Services (DCSS) believes that all parents should be fully engaged in supporting the wellbeing of their children. THE POSITION

The Supply Clerk position at DCSS plays an integral role in providing high quality back office support and customer service to internal customers within the department as well as external vendors, suppliers, property management and facilities staff.  Primary responsibilities include: maintain, order, receive and distribute supplies in an efficient and cost effective manner; maintain a well-organized and clean supply room; perform routine inventory of supplies and other assets; work closely with the administrative team, the leased site’s property management company, and/or General Services Agency personnel to schedule building maintenance and repairs, salvage excess inventory,  schedule vehicle fleet maintenance;  obtain quotes for goods and services; perform basic repairs and installations using hand tools; utilize a desktop computer to enter and track basic information in a variety of data bases, Word and EXCEL knowledgeable. Position requires routine use of manual hand truck (dolly) to move supplies, ergo equipment, office furniture; requires routine standing, walking, lifting, pushing and pulling; sets-up meeting rooms and arranges furniture and chairs for trainings and events. Must maintain a valid CA Motor Vehicle License in order to operate County vehicles to make deliveries or transport equipment and supplies to off-site locations as needed. The position requires a high degree of initiative and organizational ability, and exceptional interpersonal skills including professional verbal and written communication.

Under close supervision, orders, issues, delivers, receives and warehouses supplies and equipment; maintains manual and computerized inventory records regarding minimum stock levels and rates of usage; moves furniture, office supplies and equipment within a County agency or department; and performs other related duties as required.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Possession of the knowledge, abilities and license as listed below:

License:

Must be in possession of and maintain a valid unrestricted Class C California Motor Vehicle Operator’s license.

Knowledge of:
