THIS IS A NEW ASSEMBLED EXAMINATION. The eligible list resulting from this examination will cancel any existing list and may last approximately one year, but can be extended.

THE AGENCY
Zone 7 provides treated drinking water to four major water retailers serving around 220,000 residents and businesses. The retailers are: the City of Pleasanton; the City of Livermore; California Water Service Company - Livermore; and Dublin San Ramon Services District, which provides water service to Dublin and the Dougherty Valley area of San Ramon.
THE POSITION
IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate has experience with a proven track record of success that demonstrates knowledge, skills and abilities in the following areas:
· Performing basic mechanical maintenance, plumbing, painting, carpentry and related building trades work.
· Operating a wide variety of hand, power and shop tools used in the work.
· Observation of safe work method and safety precautions typical to water treatment plant materials, tools and equipment.
· Ability to follow written and oral instructions, accurately and carefully following established procedures for completing work tasks.
· Proficiency in basic math.
· Sufficient agility, strength and endurance to perform building and facilities maintenance, repair and construction work and operate various hand, power and shop tools.
· Willing and able to work in a variety of conditions, including in exposure to potentially hazardous materials, in confined spaces, and outdoors in all weather conditions.
· Experience operating heavy equipment (such as backhoe, bobcat, skiploader, etc.) and ability to obtain Class A driver’s license desirable.

The extent the candidate has achieved a satisfactory level of technical and professional skill or knowledge in functional areas related to the position.
