Introduction

This is technical drafting work.

Nature Of Work

An employee in this class is responsible for performing architectural or civil drafting assignments involving portrayal of basic engineering ideas and information through drawings. Work is of average difficulty and involves the use of graphic portrayal techniques, methods, and procedures in documenting and communicating basic engineering information. Under general supervision, employees are required to exercise some initiative and independent judgment in using information identified as applicable for portraying designs and applying skill in the use of methods and techniques in actually preparing the drawings. Employees are expected to relieve the designer of many standard and non-critical design considerations and are held responsible for the preparation of appropriate and adequate drawings. Basic designs involve straight lines, arcs and circles, parts with clean, easily visualized interrelationships, and few hidden design features. Work is reviewed while in progress and upon completion for neatness, clarity, accurate portrayal of the design, and inclusion of adequate information.
