· Train lower level staff;
· Provide input on performance evaluations and scheduling;
· Install and maintain electrical panel boards, conduits, circuits, fixtures, motor starters and controls, switches, outlets and other electrical equipment according to approved codes;
· Repair electrical circuits and equipment such as generators, transfer switches, power control panels, alternators and distribution systems;
· Clean, repair and maintains electrical equipment such as controls, motors and generators;
· Identify causes for electrical failures or malfunctions;
· Replace worn or inadequate wiring;
· Test circuits and determine requirements for additional electrical equipment;
· Plan circuitry paths or modifies electrical systems to accommodate new construction or existing facility alteration;
· Climb ladders;
· Install panel boards, switch boxes, pull boxes and other related devices;
· Measure, cut, thread, bend, assemble and install conduits and other kinds of electrical conductor enclosures, which connect panels, boxes, outlets and other devices;
· Estimate costs and materials required;
· Read and interpret blue prints, schematic diagrams and sketches to perform installation, maintenance and repairs;
· Maintain records of work performed and prepare reports;
· May act as a lead worker to Maintenance Electricians;
· May supervise workers assigned to assist on various projects.

Training and Experience: Any combination of training and experience, which would provide the knowledge and abilities, is qualifying, unless otherwise specified. Typical ways to obtain these knowledge and abilities would be:
Completion of an apprenticeship program as an electrician and certification as such from the Apprenticeship Standards Division of the State of California Industrial Relations Department AND two years of full-time experience in commercial or industrial maintenance work.
OR
Six years full-time, or its equivalent, progressively responsible experience in commercial or industrial electrical maintenance work. Two years must be at the journey level or higher.
