Nature of Work

The fundamental reason this classification exists is to supervise a variety of functions and complete tasks related to the collection of ad valorem tax. The essential functions are: performs administrative duties; maintains inventory of manufactured home decals, supplies and records; performs customer functions; supervises two or more full-time employees and verifies accuracy of tax forms. Employees report to the Chief Revenue Clerk or the Assistant Chief Revenue Clerk.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED, four years of experience in the collection of ad valorem taxes, and one year of supervisory experience.

Special Requirements

Willingness to work overtime and to travel out of the county to attend classes, training seminars, workshops and etc.

Kind of Examination

Applications are being accepted to fill one (1) current vacancy and any vacancies that may occur from the date of the established list of eligible candidates. The current vacancy is with the Montgomery County Revenue Commissioner's Office. Applicants will be screened and qualified based on the education and experience on their online application. Applicants are urged to fill in the online application completely providing detailed information concerning the kinds of jobs they have held, the dates they held them, where and exactly what their duties were. If more than five qualified applications are received, the supplemental questionnaire will be used to rank applicants.  Tied scores will not be broken (in accordance with Personnel Rules and Regulations, Rule VII, Section 3). If there are five or less qualified applicants, they will be considered equally qualified and placed on the register in alphabetical order.
