Nature of Work

The fundamental reason this classification exists is to perform routine court clerical work in the daily operation of the administration of the Municipal Court and County Juvenile Court. Employees in this class require daily contact with the public to include attorneys, citizens, and law enforcement personnel. The essential functions are: maintains court files, documents and records; performs general clerical functions in support of court operations; provides services to citizens, attorneys and law enforcement officials and assists Magistrate as needed. The Court Operations 
Clerk I is distinguished from the Court Operations II in that the employee is responsible for continuous court clerical work. The employee works under general supervision within established laws, guidelines and procedures in performing assigned duties. No lead work is exercised over other employees. Work is generally reviewed upon completion by the court auditor or Court Operations Clerk II and Court Operations Supervisor (City) or the Court Specialist Supervisor II and the Juvenile Court Administrator (County). 

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. One year of clerical or related work experience, including training or experience in the operation of word processing equipment, working with public and cash handling experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.


NOTE:  Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
