Nature of Work

The fundamental reason that this classification exists is to increase public awareness in regards to elections held in Montgomery County.  The major work responsibilities for the position include planning education and outreach strategies, creating/designing information for public release, disseminating information, coordinating special voter education and outreach events and programs, and performing related administrative duties.  The classification is directly supervised by the Director of Elections.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree in public relations, communications, or a similar course of study and three years of experience in the field of adult education, community outreach, or media relations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

NOTE:  Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered. 

  

Special Requirements

Ability to work overtime at night, holidays and weekends as needed to educate and reach citizens regarding elections.  Valid Alabama driver's license as needed to travel.
