Assistant Athletic Superintendent (#CI7305)

Nature of Work

The fundamental reason this classification exists is to manage a city-wide program of athletics under the direction of the Athletic Division Superintendent.  The primary work responsibilities of this position are: to direct and supervise various programs, supervise subordinates, troubleshoot problems, perform administrative duties, and promote athletic programs and activities. Work involves working extended hours and holidays during peak seasons and special events. General supervision is received from the Athletic Superintendent.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Administration, Sports Management, Physical Education, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience in the management of a football or baseball stadium or a related sports facility, to include one (1) year of supervisory experience.

 

NOTE: Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job will be considered.

 

Special Requirements

Must possess a valid Alabama driver’s license as needed to travel to various sites.   Must be willing to work varying and/or extended hours and holidays.   Physical ability to work outdoors while being exposed to inclement weather conditions such as heat, rain, and cold.
