Nature of Work

The fundamental reason this classification exists is to supervise and manage several functions within the City's Finance Department. Responsibilities include managing the City's financial activity in enterprise funds, managing the City's cash management efforts, managing the City's accounts receivable, coordinating the City's property management efforts, supervising employees and providing administrative support to the Finance Director and Deputy Director. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Director of Finance and the Deputy Director in accordance with departmental policies and with considerable latitude for independent judgment.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting and three years of executive or managerial level experience managing and supervising the accounting and financial functions of a governmental agency or managing and leading audits of public accounts. Experience with a municipality is preferred.

NOTE:  Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
