Correctional Officer/Electronics Technician (#MFAZ02)
Summary StatementAn incumbent in this class oversees the operation and maintenance of the computerized security alarm system at Delaware Correctional Center.
Nature and ScopeThe class incumbent reports to an administrative superior and is responsible for maintaining the security sensor system that detects escape attempts or penetrations by intruders of the correctional facility's perimeter fence. Work involves training and directing control room Correctional Officers responsible for operating and monitoring alarm system, repairing or replacing inoperative computer equipment, performing preventative maintenance on system components including electronic circuits, fiber optic and camera systems and monitoring the cost of system repair and maintenance. The class incumbent determines which security operations should be utilized during system failure, establishes system security requirements and takes required steps to initiate repairs and maintenance to insure on-going system integrity.
