DESCRIPTION
As assigned on a part-time basis, after nomination by the Veterans’ Memorial Building Commission, to oversee the use of a Veterans’ Memorial Building; to make reservations and to collect rents for users; and to do related work as required.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES

Secretaries, Veterans’ Memorial Building are nominated for part-time positions by the Veterans’ Memorial Building Commission in charge of the building, but they are appointed and paid by the County. The memorial buildings are owned and operated by the County, and these secretaries are, therefore, responsible to the County Superintendent of Buildings for the proper use of the building, for billing and receiving rents, and other similar functions.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
NOTE: The following are the duties performed by employees in this classification. However, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Each individual in the classification does not necessarily perform all duties listed.

1. Bills permanent and transient users for space used; transmits monies received to the County Treasurer and makes reports to the County Auditor on all monetary transactions.

2. Makes reservations for and allocates available space to various groups using the building, making sure that a given group is authorized to use the building.

3. Instructs County-employed Custodian regarding preparations for special meetings and functions.

4. Requisitions supplies for maintenance of building.

5. Keeps log books showing use of rooms and maintains reservation schedules; keeps building regulation list up to date.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The equivalent of education and experience commensurate with the kind and difficulty level of the service required.

NOTE: The Civil Service Commission may modify the above Minimum Qualifications in the announcement of an examination.
